Does this jacket look dirty?
It’s been a favourite for years. I just took it out to wear for the first time this autumn. It’s always had a vintage look and is well worn in, but I’m worried it now just looks dirty? I only wear it casually with friends but even for that I’m worried it looks kinda scruffy.

The red marks definitely make it look dirty
Agreed, that's the thing that sticks out in this picture
It's a Carhartt jacket. It would be strange if it was totally pristine
Yeahhhh…had a bit of a wine accident there! You reckon it’s too dirty then?
I totally agree! In general I love the look of it and I’ll be keeping it regardless, just not sure if it’s a bit too grotty to wear in public now. It’s actually just been washed too.
I will say I have these and I think they look great
So pretty much what Rej said
I wouldn't bat an eye at it
people are paying a premium to buy carhartt jackets like that, i wouldnt' sweat it
Do some labor in it and the red will stand out less
the red probably stands out more because it was just washed, tbh.
i love these!
Plot twist - I’m colour blind so the red is actually really hard for me to spot haha! It’s around the right side chest pocket?
Also really like these, can tell they’re super comfy
Also colorblind - I assumed it was this
Yeah that’s what I’m guessing
It is haha
It's not noticeable as being wine fwiw. I had assumed it was like red paint
same
Cool, well thanks all. It looks like the jacket lives on for another year!
You might be able to even it out a bit with hydrogen peroxide and some Dawn. Ymmv tho
I’m a proponent of resolving unattractive stains by sewing a patch in a similar color over it. Patches could also elevate the worn look
I’ve definitely considered this
wine should be fixable with dry cleaning
