What tie fabrics pair best with a tweed jacket?
I have a dark blue Donegal tweed jacket and wonder which ties would pair best. I am deciding between an all-wool tie or a cashmere/wool blend (60/40).

Knit ties and woollen ties are a pretty safe bet
What about cashmere?
Sure. I don't see why it would be significantly different from wool in this case.
Grenadine as well. Honestly silk ties work fine with tweed anyways. As always, not all combinations work.

where'd you get the dark blue donegal tweed? that's exactly the sportjacket i'm really considering getting
I got it from Magee 1866 whilst living in Dublin.
Honestly, it's not the best. The tweed is quite good, but the construction is mediocre; it's only half-canvassed and made in Morocco.
Had I known better, I'd have purchased the tweed and taken to a tailor to make a proper sports coat.
