Is it normal for the brass weight on a Frog TkL to have black spots?
Hello, I've had my Frog TKL for quite some time now and noticed today that the brass weight had some black spots. Is that normal?

Yes. If there are scratches or marks on the product that are not visible(Product internals and weight) after assembly, they are not subject to QC.
Brass can tarnish even with a coating.
It would be easier to judge if you posted a picture.

I bought on mechmarket in June, could be well over a year old. So completely normal? Is there preventative measures?
It's natural for brass to tarnish. You can prevent discoloration by stripping the coating, removing the rust, and recoating.
