Blade Runnner (and Carrion) not launching as native on Linux
Sorry but I'm a total Linux noob. Trying some games and those two are not launching, I click play then nothing and I can click play again.
But apparently libFLAC.so.8 is missing?

id do what it says, install lib flac.. but id post the full log not just something you think we need to know.
alternately, id install the windows one and use wine rather than native.
native is not always better, and in many cases worse

I remarked that but Blade runner doesn't launch either as win, I get an error in scumm vm. I get an error when I try to upload the files...

you need to post your logs from either run
change the .log extension to .txt
personally, id post logs from the windows run, you likely arent configured properly

some linux native games may be broken inside flatpak containers (they may require things we don't include inside flatpak), sometimes it's better to just run the windows version instead
for carrion I'd suggest to just use the windows versions, for blade runner you have to share a log like allora said cause the error can be different

from the carrion error, I think you should also share the GOG logs (you can find them in settings > logs > pick that one from the sidebar), there seems to be a gogdl error happening

I found a solution online for Blade Runner: I installed scummvm separately. It seems to be working.
Carrion still not launching. :/

Tried reinstalling carrion Linux and launch and got this in the messages: "Game Log:

The Almsot Gone running with Proton seems to require Steam running...
OK that "cli" stuff seems to be related to the login to the specified service. Tried to launch Ape Out I got a bit window with a long message asking to log in back to Epic. I relaunched Heroic then was able to launch Ape Out AND The Almost Gone.
And now I'm getting the usual error with Carrion (program error).
Does the file mentioned there (
/home/zoidberg/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/tools/wine/Wine-GE-latest/bin/wine) exist?
If it does:
- Try running the file utility on it and send in its output (file /home/zoidberg/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/tools/wine/Wine-GE-latest/bin/wine)
- Try just simply running it (/home/zoidberg/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/tools/wine/Wine-GE-latest/bin/wine), perhaps with the --version switch addedharsh-harlequinOP•2y ago
