Tracking corporate lobbying efforts to deregulate AI
How are AI companies influencing politicians? It would be great if we could gather information about what is happening and bundle this. Journalists could use this to counter the "regulatory capture" narrative, which often suggests that AI companies are pushing for more regulation (while the opposite is true!).
- OpenAI has openly called for regulation, but has also lobbied in the EU to exempt foundation models from the AI Act
- Aleph Alpha and Mistral have been lobbying for the same thing
