Witcher 3 no HDR
Hi,
1) I have installed W3 from GOG via Heroic
2) then i set alternative exe to:
'/HeroicGames/The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY/bin/x64_dx12/witcher.exe'
3) it works, with HDR but emulates the keyboard, no steam settings support and steam controler
4) i add it as non steam game to Steam library
5) game launches washed out colours, SteamDeck doesnt show "HDR" in status
I tired: https://old.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1865a46/psa_oled_users_launching_witcher3cyberpunk/
i experimented with "Force the user of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" the game does not launch when i select this option no matter what proton i choose.
any advice welcome,

don't use proton from within heroic, use wine-ge
preferably latest

no HDR
i think adding it as a chain:
HEROIC -> STEAM
was a mistake, i again added it to steam as plain .EXE
'/HeroicGames/The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY/bin/x64_dx12/witcher.exe'
Set the forcing policy for proton nad it finally worked, now i need to find out how to get saves to game 🙂

Piecing this together between some Steam games requiring
PROTON_ENABLE_AMD_AGS=1 %command% and that command resolving to a DLL override in the Proton code, I would suggest using an override for amd_ags_x64=b instead of creating a new prefix in Steam for the gamesunny-green•2y ago
Hello, I'm having the same issue as OP.
I have installed the Witcher 3 with Heroic Games Launcher on my OLED steam deck.
When I launch the game through Heroic, the colours are all washed out (exactly the same as OP's screenshot above).
I have directly added the EXE as a non-steam game to my library but this gives the same result.
Any help would be appreciated ❤️
