Rattly/pingy noise when switch is pressed off-center (southern)?
Guys, I'm at my wits' end. Whenever I rapidly and repeatedly (!) press a switch (with keycap ontop) off-center in the southern region, the switch makes a kind of rattly/pingy sound.
I am using a Frog Mini and already tried different plates and a different pcb to rule out defective or loose parts (loose sockets or worn out plate material). I also tried different switches, different springs, different films and different lubing techniques. I even tried the pcb/plate assembly outside the case, you can hear it, too.
The outcome is always the same.
So my question is: Is it normal for the switch when rapidly and repeatedly pressed off-center to produce some kind of rattly/pingy sound? Is that and MX design flaw?
Thanks for your input!

see example attached. that's the noise I am talking about (this ticking at random) and that's coming from literally every switch I try, no matter the tuning
perhaps try a solder build
i can only imagine the switch is loose on the socket
solder build, see attached. same problem
any luck with different keycaps
the samples are with caps from 21kb, with gmk abs is it even louder...
Not sure if you solved this issue yet, but which switches have you tried so far?
I tried mx blacks, MX browns, cream sodas, BCP, tangies, bsun raws, all with the same problem. the ONLY switch that doesn't have this problem is haimu x Geon blacks. the board is fking cursed....
Based on what you said, it seems like switches with boxed stems dont have this issue
Might be worth trying with other boxed/dustproof stem switches just to confirm
