FPGA Design Engineer – Boulder, CO – US Citizens Only

As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will work as part of a team building cutting edge antenna prototypes and products. The Embedded Systems Engineer’s responsibilities are primarily to design and test power and control systems for antennas, both hardware and software. Most of your time will be spent doing printed circuit board design and layout, writing, and deploying embedded firmware/gateware, and writing test software. As you progress, responsibilities will extend to higher level system design of active RF systems. What You Can Expect * A fast-paced cross-disciplinary environment that requires excellent communication skills and a strong desire to take an active role in a team * Mentors and peers you can seek out to tackle problems cooperatively * Team members who will challenge you – and an expectation that you will challenge them * Work given to you in areas you have never studied or experienced; we need you to be open and eager to develop skills in new areas * A workplace where you will always have the tools you need to get the job done * To get your hands dirty working with the team testing products Required Education and Experience * 3+ years of FPGA development experience * Must have U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance * Must have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s Degree a plus) * Experience designing and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits * Experience with microcontroller programming in C/C++ within a RTOS (FreeRTOS) * Experience using Python for test and analysis * Experience in digital design using Verilog/System Verilog * Proficiency with electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers * Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to peers, management, and customers * A desire to find, explore, and solve new and challenging problems * Comfortable in a lab environment * A resiliency to fail fast and often Preferred Education and Experience * Experience with the following languages/frameworks: * Zephyr * FreeRTOS * Go * Rust * Experience with DSP and pipelining within HDLs * Experience with embedded Linux development (kernel/kernel modules) * Experience with GPU acceleration * Experience with alternative HDL generation frameworks/languages and test suites: * Cocotb * Amaranth/Spade/SpinalHDL Our client fosters an environment of continual learning and provides endless opportunities for personal and professional growth for those who strive for it.
