V-Core 3.1 400mm
Anyone know how I can make the mesh better? My printer is enclosed so I can't adjust the corners as the squaring video goes over. Due to the way the side panels must line up with the 3030 extrusions I am sure the printer is square so I am thinking maybe the bed was not the straightest from RR but I dont want to replace it. I tried placing a piece of foil between the magnet and pei sheet but those are too thick and causes a high point. I am open to any suggestions.

If you fix the x gantry you'll have less that 0.2 for sure
You can try that by retightening the x rail as the guide explains, and make sure its evenly tightened.
If this is on a hot bed however you might have the classic bowing
Due to bi metali effects.
hmmm I am trying out an extrusionless x gantry. I should have mentioned that in the original post
perhaps the rail is not perfectly straight?
Just one rail?
yeah
Mgn12?
Im not sure if that will be sturdy enough on a 400
If you have such a wide printer the weight of the toolheads can make it how
Bow
Check out the dual rail mod
It is mgn12. Maybe I do need to add a second rail with the spacers between
Yeah on such a large printer id suggest it.
But you can make the rail flat if you screw it down to a flat surface.
Do you think my current mesh would be good enough to work in the meantime?
Yeah 0.2 variance is good on a 400 but keep in mind you need to heatsoak and check what's the difference in the mesh
hmmm I may try attaching it to my old 2020 extrusion to flatten it
will do a heatsoak also and check
Do that first.
For flatening it correctly i suggest a torque screwdriver
That way you know you've thighten it to a extrusion with the same force
oh good point
thank you for the great suggestions
No worries, happy hunting.
