Game randomly crashes after "launched using local dotnet"
The game just doesn't launch I have tried almost everything I can think of other than asking what to do here. Here is the launch log.

Welcome to #support-forum. Before someone helps you, please first consult the information in #TML Troubleshooting Guide and try all the suggestions that might fit your particular issue, especially in the linked FAQ page.
If the information in the pinned thread does not solve your issue, please post all log files by dragging and dropping them into this chat. In Steam right click on
tModLoader in the library, then hover over Manage and click on Browse local files. In the folder that appears find tModLoader-Logs and open that folder. Inside that folder are the logs files. Select them all except the Old folder and drag them into this chat. If you need a visual guide to this process watch this: https://github.com/tModLoader/tModLoader/assets/4522492/3f4efa43-753f-4733-b630-ba85e711340cunwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
Also I checked the trouble shooting guide and it has half an answer,
what do I do if I have one too many dotnet files?
What do you mean by "one too many dotnet files"?
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
it says you should have 223 files in the dotnet folder
i have 224
That should be fine, but you can always just delete the dotnet folder if you aren't sure
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
i tried that but it did not work
hm, did you only have that 1 log file?
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
?
do you have any other files in the Logs folder?
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
no
hm, not sure what else to try. Windows 10 doesn't usually have any issues running the game
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
i will send the other logs
wait, you do have other log files?
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
oh sorry i meant yes
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
Client log 2
where is the rest of it?
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
?
do you mean the log file locations?
no, the rest of the file. You said this is client2.log? It should have much more information
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
i only sent the most recent chunk of text
don't do that. Send the actual file
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
ok

This looks like the game reached the main menu, but you said the game doesn't launch?
This is also from 4 days ago
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
thats because it works sometimes
and that was the most recent launch
should i launch it again for a failure
hm. Well, since the name is client2.log, that means a 2nd instance of the game might still be running that you don't see. I would delete the whole logs folder, restart your computer, try to launch the game, then send me everything in the new logs folder that gets generated
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
ok
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
hm, it mentions that access is denied for some reason. Are you launching through steam? You can try launching by opening start-tModLoader.bat in the install folder instead, it might avoid this error
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
ok
just tried that and it still crashed
do you need the crash log?
sure
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
that's the same file
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
oh?
which log then?
well, you can delete them all and see if anything shows up
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
ok
it only generated two logs
lauch.log and natives.log
send em

Still getting a permission denied thing for dotnet/6.0.14/dotnet.exe. You didn't do anything weird like launch the game as admin, right?
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
no
Hm, well, something is preventing the game from launching that file, which launches the game. Sounds like a permissions issue. Usually I just suggest to people to delete the whole tMOdLoader install folder and reinstall from steam, maybe that'll clear up the incorrect permissions
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
let me try that
so the files in steamapps/common
are those the right files
yes, the tModLoader folder in there is the install folder
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
i attempted to launch i 3 times
it worked on the first one
the other two were crashes
I'm not sure why that would be happening.
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
would me closing the game while the mods load affect it?
Possibly, maybe the game isn't fully closing when you do that
unwilling-turquoiseOP•2y ago
yeah
just deleted the install folder again and reinstalled it and that is not a fix i dont think
