Darkest Dungeon 2 DLC

Hello everyone. I purchased and was trying to install the new DD2 DLC from the Epic games store through the heroic launcher. I attempted to use the DLC button from the dropdown menu, but there was no DLC found. I started looking for help online and one suggestion was to uninstall and reinstall the game, which I did through the launcher. I thought I had backed up my save games but now I can’t find them and still no DLC. Please let me know if I just erased 150+ hrs of hours of progress and I’m SOL here. Thank you for the help 😭🤍

"savesPath": "/home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/RedHook/Darkest Dungeon II/SaveFiles/558ac06815084914bfefd15c9ae358bd",
"winePrefix": "/home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Darkest Dungeon II",
your synced folder is set to the wrong destination

Does that mean the saves are gone 😬

not necessarily, but your cloud sync is putting the saves outside of where the game is looking for them go to that save path folder and see if they're there

Thank you for explaining, this is way more techy than I usually get

this would probably be my most recent save right? How do I get it where it’s actually supposed to be

I’m going to lay out a bunch of steps. Some of which may appear extraneous, but they’re going to save you trouble down the line based in part on that you shouldn’t be using Proton First, leave the existing save folder alone. This will be your backup Delete your existing prefix folder entirely in Dolphin. Download Wine-Ge-latest from the wine manager in Heroic, set that to be your wine runner. Delete the save path in the cloud sync section. Replace it with /home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Darkest Dungeon II/drive_c/users/deck/AppData/LocalLow/RedHook/Darkest Dungeon II/SaveFiles/558ac06815084914bfefd15c9ae358bd Try a Force Download

I just want to make sure I’m doing this 100% right—this is the Prefix folder I should delete correct

So I think I successfully overwrote the save file but the game isn’t booting now so I must have done something wrong

That one is for ALL prefixes, not just the one game. In this case, it doesn’t look like you have more than this one so it’s ok now Provide the heroic game log as before

So I ended up installing the Epic games launcher then installing the game again through there. Then I copied the old save file into where those save files should be and that ended up working somehow? So, my game is saved! Thank you again for the help, I wouldn’t have even been able to figure out my saves were still there without the assistance. I hope you have a great day 💛
