Tiny Tina's Wonderlands: Failed Save game Settings
Hello Hope someone could help me, I have a steam deck and im trying to play Tiny Tina's wonderland via heroic games launcher i failed top do the epic authentication at the title screen and now i cant play the game it keeps coming up with failed to save game settings!
Someone please help!

It’s a flatpak permissions thing. Drop the log to the desktop or paste it in, and it should upload as text
Or upload to pastebin

I meant to paste the contents, sorry. I can view the pastebin log. it looks like it's not storing the save path. delete the path and rescan it
it's also consistent with the error that says it expected a string but got nothing

when i select sync it was saying sync disabled skipping
i thought it was some error with the connection to epic games 😦 as when i first started the tiny tinas up it asked for authentication i didnt relise then quit the game and saw the pop up to allow selected the allow then when i opened the game again it was doign the error
going online i find the same kinda error witht the settings but it just says to delete some files but thats on windows and i got no clue where they are so i tried to delete some but nothing working 😦

That was my attempt to fix it i found online someone saying give it a new save path as the saves are the issue they are saying

You need the full path or else Heroic will download the saves into a folder that is not utilized by the game
And I cannot remember if the apostrophe is the issue here. It does vaguely sound familiar though

from the error it seems like that folder doesn't exist, if that's the case you can manually create it

one thing that I know happens for Borderlands 3 is that you need Proton-GE instead of Wine-GE for game saves to work, maybe it's the same for tiny tina?

I don’t remember if this was the case but it could’ve been a contributor. I also don’t know if the apostrophe issue was fixed as it’s been quite a while since I needed to look into it

i dont see any apostrophe in the file path
so in my file path is going to the savegames/c(bunch of letters) but in that file i found the saves and a folder called my games then tiny tina then save gaved games then that c folder then a single profile sav could this be the issue?

just to be sure, I think we are talking about multiple issues at the same time
- if you click the
Download button in the Cloud Saves section, what's the result?
- if you put the save files in /home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/Tiny Tinas Wonderlads/drive_c/users/deck/Documents\My Games\Tiny Tina's Wonderlands\Saved\SaveGames\ do you see them in the game?
- if you play something and try to save, does saving work?

ok so first i can launch the game but at singing in it asks me to agree to term then the pop up starts. i can keep saying and get into the game once in the game t runs fine no pop up but i do get a pop up at the left saying you dont own this gasme etc etc ( i do own it)
i can save and close it and the character comes up fine when relaunching but makes me go through the steps of settings and agreeing etc and the pop up keeps showing

I have a suspicion that you have
c7..../My Games/Tiny Tina..../c7... already in the cloud, I feel it will recreate those folders when you do the cloud sync
on thing, while you try things, disable the auto save sync for the game
you don't want to mess up your cloud saves trying stuff
try only downloading syncs manually so you have control on what's happening

that combined with the wrong

Well when i first opened it the game came up with please go tot he web broowser and authenticate using the game i didnt know how otr get out the game ( u needed to bind alt tab) so i quit the gasme to see the browser so selected allow to authenticate and then i opened the game again the authenticate didnt show so it jus tasked for the agree to terms
then the settings issue came up
which is why i think its cause the epic games isnt technically synced to this which is why im getting this error

in heroic, go to Wine Manager > Proton-GE > install the latest
then in the game settings in heroic, in the Wine tab select Proton-GE as the wine version

cause they like to copy and paste ive been playing borderlands since the release of the first game

weird thing is that I have the other Tiny Tina's game and I didn't see that error back then when I tested it with Wine-GE, maybe it's only for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and Borderlands 3, who knows haha

And your cloud save is what was last uploaded
Although it is so close in time that you have already overwritten what’s on the cloud

then you can turn on autosync saves if you want to upload what you play now to the cloud to keep that for the future, or you can keep that disabled if you don't need to save things in the cloud

and you can also set this to be automatic in the Heroic global settings

one thing that could work is using an older version of Proton-GE, like Proton-GE-Proton8-10, I think the problem playing videos started in something like proton 8-13/14

I'm not sure what to try, I tried the other Tiny Tina's game (that's the one I own) and it doesn't even have the issue with the saves, maybe someone else has this game and made it work but I'm not sure what to suggest

One for your notes managed to sort it only way was to join someone else's game who is on the exact same mission at the exact same part and it then continued my character on with it!
