cannot create docker template

I just installed coder using docker compose. Coder started and I was able to create the first account. But when I tried to create the first docker template, I got the error: Error pinging docker server: Got permission denied while trying to connect to the Docker deamon socket at unix://var/run/docker.sock

How can I fix this?
