It's easier to enable the Apply known Winetricks automatically-Option in the global Settings -> Advanced section. Works out of the box (using Wine-GE-lastest).

fwiw this game does work with minimal futzing if you did the manual way, but yeah the experimental option to auto get dependencies works really well for most stuff
