Ok and do you think i should be using epic games launcher??
Please give some details on what you did that lead up to this error. I can see that you're trying to install a game, but you're also resuming an update somehow?
After some code review, I'm still unsure about what happened here. You're starting the installation of a game which you previously interrupted (for example by pausing it or closing Heroic), but the resume finds that no files need to be downloaded. If that would be the case however, the install should just be done
One thing you could try is, instead of installing the game normally, trying to import it (the button to do this is right next to the "Install" button in the install dialog)
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
i already had fortnite in egl but it wasn't updated
then i deleted egl
and downloaded from heroic
its shows 100% processing files in the bottom left corner
and in downloads it shows 99.99% done
i even tried importing
and it shows 9mb is left to install
im very disappointed about this
Could you head to "Settings" -> "Log", click "Show log file in folder" (image 1), then send in the log files ending in "legendary" (image 2; might be more/less files for you)?
That should give clarity on what events happened at what time, and what might've been the root cause here

rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
Its actually 1am for me
I gotta sleep I'm sorry
Can i do it tmrw?
absent-sapphire•17mo ago
if you do it tomorrow the log will be overwritten, so make sure you reproduce the error and then send the log
Logs persist for up to one month
Other than that, well, we'll still be here tomorrow
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
Tysm
absent-sapphire•17mo ago
reeeally? i had no idea, i thought it was just the previous launch
adverse-sapphire•17mo ago
we delete them now, we keep only current and previous
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
Hey you there?
Text is an asynchronous medium
Meaning: Send in your logs, I (or someone else) will look at them once they have the time for it
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
Alright
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
Here you go!
Right, I have some more questions now, but nothing you can answer really
I assume trying to import the game still doesn't work? The error you got with that command is particularly odd
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
To import i alr had the game which wasn't updated
So i had to import and then still download it
As my fn downloaded in egl was pretty outdated
Should i completely delete fortnite and install it all again?
And will i still get the same error if i do so?
Importing
D:\Nived\Apps\fortnite\Fortnite\Fortnite
, the original install path you specified in Heroic, should still work, no matter how outdated or otherwise damaged the install might berising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
Idk what happened
What do i do now?
Is there any fix?
Or should i use egl?
If i should reinstall by any chance
I want you to tell me exactly how to reinstall properly
Well, a slightly roundabout way that would confirm you're doing everything correctly would be:
1. Open up a Command Prompt
2. Run
SET LEGENDARY_CONFIG_PATH=C:\Users\Nived\AppData\Roaming\heroic\legendaryConfig\legendary
3. Run C:\Users\Nived\AppData\Local\Programs\heroic\resources\app.asar.unpacked\build\bin\win32\legendary import Fortnite D:\Nived\Apps\fortnite\Fortnite\Fortnite
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
So i should delete fn and reinstall it?
?
absent-sapphire•17mo ago
stop pinging with replies, he'll get to it when he can
have you tried the commands in the windows command line that he suggested?
No, you should... run the commands I sent in
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
Alr I'll do it tmrw and say what happens
The !st one didn't really do anything
now it says fortnite has imported
Alright, that's good
- Could you show the full output of the 2nd command?
- Heroic should now show the game as being installed
rising-crimsonOP•17mo ago
It worked
I also played it
Thanks for your support and sorry for the inconvenience from my side
Oh no problem at all, you've managed to hit an edge case I've not seen before (in my 3 years of doing support here), so it's natural to be a bit confused there
Great to hear it's now working, have fun with the game and feel free to ask here again if you have any issues
rising-crimsonOP•16mo ago
Tysm!
hey
rising-crimsonOP•16mo ago
Is this common

rising-crimsonOP•16mo ago
there's a new fortnite update
Can you fix this?
It shows 100% again
But downloads
Our percentage calculation is a bit wonky for this game specifically (for any other game, you just have a current percentage and one final size; Fortnite has one for every install tag)
We can surely fix this, but I don't know if anyone wants to prioritize this (no-one on our team uses Windows, and that's the only platform the game works on)
rising-crimsonOP•16mo ago
Ohh
Its alright
You can take your time
Was jus wondering if it was a problem at my end
