I think if I was to spend above $300, I'd probably just get Meermins. Aside from the long break-in period, they've been worth it

@Keep if you’re not married to suede a pair of mono doc 1461 is a pretty cheap beater derby I’ve found to be a real wardrobe workhorse
And they don’t read as docs I don’t think
I like them look-wise, my gripe with them is the lack of proper brown.

tbh i don't love that specific pair of aldens. Looks like grain leather which generally fetches a lower resale value for used aldens
plus i think that toe box works much better in suede than calfskin

Astorflex is honestly really boring. Like, their designs are all pretty uninspired and blobby
But they’re really comfy, well made, and well priced for what they are, so might as well try them on if you can locally

officine creative is a bit more avante garde, but for some reason not very in demand so their resale market value is minimal, and honestly that's a really steep price for them IMO
