spier and mackay red label sizing?

hi all looking to buy my first "actual" suit looking to see if anyone here has bought a spier and mackay red label suit before, just wondering what's up with their sizing? i don't have much knowledge on how suit fitting works but i typically wear 38 slim fit for other off the rack brand and my chest measures out to be 37 but does spier and mackay tailored fit not have anything that acutally fits people with size 38 (everything seems to be +3-4 inches) chest sizes or am i looking at this whole thing wrong?

You want a good bit of space. You don’t want the jacket to be painted on

so if you typically wear 38 for other OTR brands, go with 38 aswell?

I find Spier fairly true to size for jackets if their cut works for you If you have a suit with a fit you like it’s better to measure the garment Read their how to measure guide in the screenshot It should have some details

Also, you could buy one with the intention of returning it if it doesn't fit. So don't get them to hem the pants or they won't take it back. Returns are pretty easy

Awesome, thanks so much for the advice guys. Think I'm gonna start off with the 36 and make up to the 38 just to see how the fit is. Also it doesn't seem like Spier and Mackay sells three pieces (or well they're out of stock for them) for charcoal. Anyone have good charcoal color waistcoat recommendations?

Are you sure you need a 3-piece?

Yes they have three pieces. I think you can get them mtm there too. So you could find your specific fabric
