Backpack + Suede leather jacket = disaster?
Got a suede leather jacket as a gift. Usually go to work with my backpack and would like to use this jacket for the commute. Will that ruin the jacket as time goes on? If so, anything that can be done to avoid any issues?
Have a pic of the jacket if it helps in anyway.

It’ll probably be alright. You may see slight increased wear where the back pack is rubbing but it likely wont be that bad
I find that the most rubbing will happen on the shoulders - it'll look a bit odd, especially if you have a heavy pack with abrasive material at the shoulders
yeah that's what I was concerned about... the shoulders and the lower back area
my current backpack is cordura which I'm pretty sure will be abrasive on it
any particular strap material you know of that would be gentle?
My experience is that tightly woven fabrics are better in general vs fabrics with big air gaps for padding
And that a “sticky” pad helps a lot because its movement that is a problem, not just the existence of straps
And finally, lighter packs
gotcha, that makes sense
appreciate it if you have any recs for a budget-oriented one
in the meantime, looks like I gotta do some research on my end lol
