Can I get a second opinion on these loafers?

A pair of Alden LHS in my size just showed up on eBay. They need a new sole, but afaict the upper is in pretty good shape. They’re listed so low I’m tempted, even though that means going to the hassle of getting them resoled. My only concern is the wear at the back of the left heel cup. I’ve never seen leather look like that before. Is it normal, or at least something I can fix with polish? Or are there any other red flags?

I got my pair in better condition for $100
Like you said those are going to need at least a resole and potentially more so I’d add at least $150 to the price
I see. I’m going through the Alden model project sale history now. Looks like ones in that condition are going for $50 or less

Also make sure 12 is your size in LHS. I sized down on mine
