PauseAI MicroGrants - funding for projects!
We have a huge list of projects here in this discord. There's so much to do. However, many of us don't have the luxury of working on such a project too long as a volunteer. We need some form of income, even for part-time projects. And getting funding can be a huge hassle - especially if you've never applied to a grant.
This is where PauseAI MicroGrants come in handy! Small amounts of money (< 1000 EUR) for working on a project. We're pretty open about what types of projects could apply. Here's a list of examples:

- Organize an event, like an email lobby session (fee for organising, location rental, food & drinks)
- Help out with the website, e.g. writing articles, making technical improvements
- Do research, e.g. for the #AI Safety Scorecard.
- Make videos about why we need to Pause AI
- Work on a policy draft
- Perform market research, e.g. a survey or message testing study
- Write for media, e.g. write an opinion piece for a national newspaper
- Describe your project in the #projects-
forum. Tell about the idea, what you want to do, wherey ou want help and what amount of money you need. - Mention
@micrograntsso we know we should take a look. - We reach out in a 1 on 1. Either a) we give an OK right away, b) we want to see some changes / questions answered or c) give you a no.
- Get to work!
- When you're done, you'll receive the grant. If you need the money up front, we can discuss that option, but it should not be the default.
- PauseAI will fund 10,000 EUR (thanks to the Lightspeed grant)
- @Greg_C will fund 10,000 EUR
- Give us feedback on how we can improve the process or the scope of this project.
