How can I dress down cordovan 1000 mile boots?
I’ve got a pair of Wolverine 1000 Mile boots in cordovan (https://bespokeunit.com/articles/shoes/wolverine-1000-mile-cordovan-boot-review/) and I love the look and fit of them but I always struggle to not dress up when I wear them.
Today I’m trying to pair them with some dark blue slim straight leg 121 lucky pants (https://www.nordstromrack.com/s/lucky-brand-121-heritage-slim-straight-leg-pants/6040750) but maybe these are part of them problem and clash, honestly no idea here.
Any help is appreciated.

I think they're naturally dressed down
But I like the original laces
I do too. I literally just swapped them out an hour ago but was on the fence
Maybe my issue is that I can’t seem to find a shirt to compliment the look. Button ups feel almost too dressy and short sleeve t’s look awkward

The red seems like an okay pairing. I’ve done something similar before - usually a fall look with a jean jacket. The classic basic midwest fall look 😁
