Wave bank file missing, no audio
Just installed Terraria and tModLoader. Tried to launch the tModLauncher, prompt said there were 3rd party files (wave bank) and deleted it. Tried launching again and everything worked perfectly but no audio. Reinstalled everything, same problem. Tried fetching a wave bank file and not letting the prompt delete the wave bank file, but the game gets stuck as a background process without ever showing up (process appears in task manager).
I Went to check tModLoader logs and noticed that, if I leave the wave bank file the last log reads
[1/DEBUG] [Terraria]: Device Reset, Profile: Reach -> HiDef, Width: 800, Height: 480, Fullscreen: False, Display: \\.\DISPLAY1
and if let the prompt remove the wave bank file (everything works but no audio) there are these logs right after that
[1/WARN] [tML]: Silently Caught Exception:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\GOG Games\tModLoader\Content\Wave Bank.xwb'.14 Replies
Terraria and tModLoader version? 1.4.4 tModLoader should not have its own wave bank.
Oh you are the same person that I helped before.

Yeah, except I was left hanging on that thread. Not that I mind really
Have you tried reinstalling and not deleting the wave bank?

Yeah, a couple times
Does
C:\GOG Games\tModLoader\Content\Wave Bank.xwb exist or not?probable-pinkOP•2y ago
It does, unless I let the bat that runs the game delete it
1.3 doesn't use a bat to start the game?
probable-pinkOP•2y ago
The start-tmodloader.bat?
Pretty sure 1.3 is just an exe

Well, it seems you are right. I probably got things mixed up trying to fix it.
But, although the bat file is not necessary to run the game, it behaves the same
If Wave bank.xwb exists, it hangs in the background
If not, it runs without audio and raises the warning in the logs
Try using 1.4.4.9 vanilla and then v0.11.8.9 tModLoader.
Because if I were to switch to 1.3-legacy on Steam, vanilla is still up to date at 1.4.4.9

So, I just tried that. As expected, tModLoader and it prompts me to update Terraria, which defeats the purpose.
Try copying the wave bank from vanilla to tModLoader?

Done. Same behaviour as always. Either no file no sound or file but game gets stuck in the background
Just in case, I did that with the old version of tModLoader (the one compatible with Terraria 1.3), the old one won't launch because of the Terraria version
