It's kind of "Patagonia deep pile fleece uncanny valley" for me. Not different enough to be its own design but not similar enough to be a repro

Hmm, I would entertain that option if they weren’t 24 years old at this point and roughly 600$ 😭 I totally get what you mean by the “uncanny valley-ness” of it though
I love the manastash fleeces
I like that the under-collar area is fleece instead of nylon like a lot of brands do currently. I don’t like when the front meets in a W shape instead of straight across. Overall I like that it’s not yet another Patagonia deep pile or the various imitators, which my area is overrun with.

I love the version with the red accents, but from what I understand the newer versions aren’t high pile right?

On 2nd look I don't know what the differences are between the new Patagonia retro fleece and the vintage ones

I like the Manastash fleeces a lot. The double zips are a great detail that the Patagonia fleece doesn’t have, and I like that they have a good variety of colorways. They had a black/purple/brown color blocked version a year or two ago I really liked.
agree, i got a pretty good deal on this one (100$) so I'm lookingforward to it
couldnt justify 40$ more for the retro x on sale
