Is this derby versatile?

Hi everyone, I got this leather derby from IRO Paris. I really like the shoe but I wonder how versatile it is in terms of wearing it on both casual and formal occasions. I understand that at the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference but l'm just curious to hear some other opinions. Since the sole is quite pronounced, the shoe definitely has a more casual/ rock-inspired kind of style, which I normally don't shy away from btw. Would love to know what you guys think! Thank you for your time! More info on the shoe itself: Lining: 100% calf Outsole: 100% gum/rubber Interior sole: 100% calf Stem: 100% calf Construction: welted

yes definitely hugely versatile I don’t think it’s too chunky to wear with suiting, but maybe not like uber-traditional suiting

It’s very trendy versatile Extremely in right now and will work for almost all outfits from casual to slightly formal. I don’t think it’ll work with super formal bc the sole is too rugged and the toe box is too round But would fit in every time you would wear docs basically

Thank you so much, @sinbad - 4’11 3.1% BAC and @Char ඞ and everyone else! 🙏 Super happy to hear that you reassure me in my buying decision. I normally tend to wear black leather boots on most daily/casual occasions and have a pair of oxfords for formal events. This shoe is my first derby and I am excited to incorporate it into my wardrobe.
