Resolution help
hey guys I recently switched monitors to a 3440x1440 , in val website it says this is supported but whatever I do it never works and I have black bars on the side of my screen I've asked help from many people and id love to get this fixed, thanks!

Never mind go back to full screen when you change your resolution do you have the option to change the aspect ratio method?
nope
If you are using nvidia, go to "adjust desktop size and position" then select "aspect ratio".
make sure "override the scaling mode set by games and programs" box is checked, and if you have "perform scaling on" GPU try to see if it allows you to set it to "display" if not is fine.

Sadly I use amd , that's why none of the nvidia videos work for me

val just doesn't support ultrawide
it's developed under 16:9

for AMD it is tricky to have stretchress as thats a stretched resolution he wants to have
iirc ultra wide monitors will always have black bars for val unless u go strue stretched

Didn’t you say the monitor was already in the right resolution?
In that case your two options are either stretching the hud which is fully legal or you can stretch the game using winexp which carries a small risk of getting banned
