HGL

Linux Mint HGL no games will launch.

The logs say "can't get libdl.so" i've tried googling it but all i find is mangohud/goverlay errors, which i had already solved by running goverlay latest downloaded since the PPA version dosent work. i tried running 'goverlay' in terminal and i get that same "can't get libdl.so" error so theres definitely something on the Debian side of the system thats broken for at least these 2 applications but google isn't providing any answers. any help would be massively appreciated. thank you!

Don’t use Proton. Use Wine-GE-latest. Delete the prefix and rerun the game

did you install the wine dependencies linked in this thread? https://discord.com/channels/812703221789097985/1044301598018515105 you can also try using heroic flatpak that includes many dependencies built in

try with heroic flatpak if you haven't already

i was told to avoid flatpak. it sucks up disk space and runs worse than regular packages though?

there should be no problem with performance, and it doesn't suck at disk space, it uses more space because it includes the dependencies built in (most, not all), so it can help solve problems with dependencies the steam deck for example only expects flatpaks to be installed, and it's a system that can't be wasting resources, and it's all good there

settings won't carry over, you can probably copy the configuration files from ~/.config/heroic to ~/.var/com.heroicgamesluncher.hgl/config/heroic
