going to Japan in May, any interesting/fun clothing brands to check out?
Preferably more streetwear style and aesthetic. Will only be in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka

Honestly hundreds, you might have to be more specific as to what sort of stuff you're into
Alright, not a brand persay but it would be cool if you checked out Tailor CAID
Like if you're near the building, it could be cool to see it
and its in tokyo
Yeah it’s true it’s super broad. Uhhh I’m not super fashion forward or loud, so I don’t have much interest in oversized/baggy pants (tops are fine), and my wardrobe tends to be quieter designs instead of super loud statement pieces
Thanks I’ll see how close it is and if it’s viable to take a trip
🙂 np
Rudies in Harajuku is tiny but nice, well priced, and I swear nobody else from the west has been there
https://www.theroadieshop.com/index.php?cPath=189 thats their online shop
I saw commes des garcons might be cheaper in jp vs the west too idk if you think it’s worth looking at them
Cool they do have some interesting stuff, might be worth looking through
I’m also gonna be there late May/early June!
I’m gonna check out Hinoya for sure in Ueno
hey - not all of these are superrr streetwear-centric, but here are some stores i really like in those cities that you might have an interest in. strong emphasis on minimalism and very nice materials / craftsmenship:
Tokyo
Carol, Markaware, ATON, H Beauty & Youth, Nid, quadro, SHELTER, Lad Musician, 1LDK, th products (sendagaya)...theres so many in Tokyo, lmk if you want more haha
Kyoto
Graphpaper, ATTEMPT, amplamp, Rainmaker
Osaka
Mister Hollywood, Wallace & Murron, Ray Coal, sign, BIOTOP
just some ideas 🤘
Any of these have some workwear/Americana stuff?
hmm i guess i dont really know what that aesthetic looks like haha. do you have any brands to reference? maybe places like Beams could be good. or Sugarhill is another brand that comes to mind that i think fits into that category, but you tell me. also Kapital and Buzz Rickson maybe? all of that stuff is going to be considerably cheaper if you buy it actually in japan
maybe Taiga Takahashi too

Sure thing. I haven't actually been to any of them yet, I just did a bunch of research to put it together. There are also PLENTY more options, especially in Harajuku and Shibuya
My favorite is Loftman 1981 in Kyoto
The Blurred Clothing Co in Shibuya is nice
