Europe(Germany) - Leather Jacket - 500€
Hello,
I am from Germany and looking for a Leather jacket for everyday wear (spring, summer nights, autumn).
[I know some Brands to stell worldwide, but those have sadly not so convenient international return policies, so I would prefer not to buy from the USA directly, but online in general is not an issue for me.]
Preferably in dark-dark-brown or black.
I intend to combine them with white sneakers (Adidas Stan Smith or my dark dark brown chelseas, pic of my chelseas included).
Style-wise I am not sure about the Names, but I think 「Moto」 is what it is called, I do not like those snap collars or those belts and other decorational stuff like zippers, ribbed patterns and additional stitchings.
Using those fabrics (often elastic) at the bottom of the jacket or at the end of the sleeves is a big NO from me.
I have here an example of an Jacket that I like a lot, from AllSaints,
the Jacket (black coloured) looks really good (might be due to the Model) but it is sadly not available in M/L anymore and it is Lamb Leather which I try to avoid since it seems to be the most fragile and care-intense leather. (I do not really know which kind of leather I want, I just know that I want it to look smooth and a buy-it-for-life thing (5-10 years).
Here a brown one which I do somewhat like but not as much as the AllSaints one and it is from Bugatti and I doubt it is "high quality" and does not even mention the leather it is using.
I don’t need to make the purchase now, but I would like to make it soon and not wait till next Black Friday or Christmas.
Height is 188cm and weight is ±83kg.
My Budget is round about 500€.
I don,t want to have a jacket that looks to big, so I prefer regular fit/body fit (should be able to zip it when feeling cold)

Yeah you are right the jackets with the additional zippers are often refered to as moto jackets.
Have you decided on what collar you want?
Plus I assume you don't want any shearling (Schafspelz) on the collar right?
Maybe the caffe racer style could be what you are looking for
I would consider also looking vintage.
Schott also makes some cool jackets which may be of interest to you:

Thanks for the reply!
I like the collar as in the picture with the black AllSaints one.
I have already searched through Schotts Website, and the only one I do prefer the most but still don't actually like is this one :

Here I do not like that at the bottom you have this button at the zipper and slightly annoying is that the chest pocket is a bit at an angle.
I really don't know how to describe it better, but I like it to look a bit more "formal" or maybe even "boring"?

Maybe minimalist would be a good way to describe what you want?
I think with leather jackets considering used can help get a bigger selection
okay just checked Vinted and "Ebay Kleinanzeigen", absolutely nothing that I like or woudl even consider and sadly with most of them I do not even know what materials have been used. Maybe I should look locally-offline, but I doubt this since leather jackets are pretty niche imo
Yeah, it's kind of tough to find something good (both new and used)
I found a barely used second hand jacket from a boutique Mexican manufacturer on Vinted in the end (after a long search)
I narrowed it down, but there is something negative I could say about each of them.

1 - is somehow not so great? But again might be due to model.
2 - the pockets are a bit too visible from the outside imo
3 - angled chest pocket zipper and the button at the bottom of main-zipper
4 - not symmetrical mainzipper (doesnt has to be negative, it is just different, maybe the collar might be not great long term
5- the stiitching on the chest but otherwise I like it a lot
6 - angled chest pocket zipper, zipper on the sleeves and the stupid buttons at the collar
maybe some of you want to give your opinions, I am in general a very indecisive person
also not sure about the variation in brown-tones in the 2nd Brown Jacket (No. 2)
I really like #2, especially the pockets tbh
The mottled colour is really nice too in my opinion, gives a nice natural look
I agree
#2 is definitely very nice
would buy
I'm unsure if Schott will have what you are looking for feels like you want something more minimal and less heritage
but yeah 2 is really nice. Although I would not buy it if you are not 100%
Yes that's why I need other sources that are not mentioned by the leather buying guide and are not the typical brands you find at Zalando/Otto etc.
I mean I like it 90%, I am also somewhat of a perfectionist which is not always achievable. But don't worry, I will think several times before I make a purchase that costs 550€
@KissGo-Goat I assume you are German or at least speak it/live here ?
Are there other shops that offer those Schott Jackets?
It is weird, we have NONE in Germany and right across the border in Belgium are several
Yes I'm German but I'm not aware of any shops that sell Schott from the top of my head there must be some though
