Looking for Parka recommendations
What's up guys.
I'm looking for any recs of a light to mid weight hooded parka. Something to wear in the spring or autumn seasons. I remember buying one from ASOS (only & sons), but i didn't like the front pockets or the fact that it was 100% polyester. (felt kinda ruggy and rust, and wasn't too warm).
I have something like this (see image below):
But am not fan of the front pockets.
I don't know too many brands out there, so hoping yall can help. Also budget for me is 200usd or less.
Thanks!

"light to mid weight" and "parka" are contradictory to me. Are you looking for a long, insulated raincoat? What temperature range are you targeting?
were you looking for a primarily functional parka or something that is "stylish" (if the latter, do you have pictures of your fits or your particular style)
Hmm are Parkas defined as to be just light weight?
But yeah, something long and insulated that can be worn in the rain or cold (under 60 degrees F).
Would you say the pic above is stylish?
If not, I think that style is what I usually would go for
I think of a parka as a heavy, insulated (down) jacket, thigh length, that you would wear in freezing temperatures or below.
the question wasn't meant to be a judgment on taste but rather your needs; a canada goose parka (for example) is highly functional but in most cases you'll wear it independent of style

i know jfarrell is about to post the red fit lol
lol
I'm just trying to understand what, exactly, you are looking for.
For example, I like front pockets to keep my hands warm when I'm not wearing gloves.
Going from the picture, it seems like you are looking for a thigh-length jacket, waterproof, lightly insulated, hooded, and maybe minimal/sleek, not super technical and gorpy with a ton of pockets etc.
You say you don't like polyester, but for sub-$200, you aren't going to find a traditional wool or waxed cotton coat, unless you're willing to look secondhand.
What kind of material are you looking for, ideally?
also what do you usually wear under the parka? if you're looking for something to put on under a t-shirt and go out in 50F, that will be a different parka than something worn with a sweater and shirt, as in the example image
This is def spot on. I guess I wasn’t used to the front pockets design, so that’s not a concern for me.
100% polyester is not a deal breaker for me. I guess the one I got from ASOS wasn’t insulated enough.
It’s usually a sweater or flannel, and then my bottoms would be jeans or chinos
Yall been super helpful!
You're welcome.
If you find something you like, post it.
that's not the strict definition of a parka though, there are lighter parkas which is what it looks like OP is asking about https://www.alphaindustries.com/products/mjf52500c1-m-59-fishtail-mod-parka

(this link also serves as a recommendation for @jd - looks similar to the pic but with more standard slant flap pockets, and in your price range)
