Keeping High Rise/High Waisted Pants From Sliding Down
Hi, new poster but long time lurker here 😛 Fallen in love with high rise pants’ comfortability and look lately, but I kept having to pull my pants upwards. This pair of pants is made to measure, but my belly size fluctuates a lot depending whether I have a full or empty stomach, what I ate, and whether I sit or stand etc.
I’m thinking of going back to the tailor and having him take in the waist, and suffer a bit when I sit or after the meal - but is there some guideline on how closely fitted these pants should be? I could also use a belt, but sometimes that kinda takes from the clean look IMO, and suspender is a bit too formal for my chinos and cords…

Yo i also struggle from the same issue, I often have a muffin top lmao. I think the best solution is to wear a correctly fitting belt that you can adjust depending on how much you eat and stuff
If you’re wearing tailoring then suspenders are by far the best and most comfortable option but uh outside of tailoring I wouldn’t recommend wearing them
I think the best way to go would be some pants that fit you comfortably but a little loose around your waist, then cinch them down with a correctly sized belt. That’d give you the most breathing room and also space to tuck shirts/sweaters in
Thanks for the advice, Guatou!
Yeah I’ll just invest in some good belts 😅
I wonder if braces could be an option if you were to lean into a workwear aesthetic? Because I've seen shearers wear them a lot.
I used to think my shirt didnt fit and/or kept sliding up, until I realized it was the pants that constantly slid down throughout the day. Cinching my waist with a belt pretty much kept everything stable, but its less comfortable
And yeah, suspenders look quite nicely with formal slacks. They clash in formality with cords or chinos tho (or maybe I havent found ones that dont)
Perhaps. I can try it on my high rise denims (although I put in trousers details too, so not sure how well it turns out 😅)
Meh technically if you wore a jacket and never took it off, and your pants have suspender buttons then it's okay
But those two things only make sense if you're wearing tailoring
I'm going to say that braces definitely make sense if you are wearing workwear due to the fact that they are often worn while doing jobs like shearing.

Note the clips and how they are different to normal clips or loops.
Tbh I mostly just deal with it and fuss with my pants/belt. I also often wear a braided belt so I can tighten and loosen it by v small amounts as I want
