Valorant Region Lock

I have friends in China that I would like to play with but I do not have a VPN. It is to my understanding that because we are from different regions, I cannot play with them. Would I be able to play with them if they make an account and I played on it or is there another way to do so?

Use an alternative account, not your main account because you won’t be able to move it back easily.
