thanks - note your comments so with something like the spitfire or the p51 I should see some noticeable centre position drift - note I had seen this but assumed flying the ah64 just before (with the force trim) may have somehow reset or messed up the centre - so I am guessing after reading reply as I load a new aircraft the centre (initially) should go back to the old calibrated centre (from the VPforce software but may drift as you fly? - also noticed on the p51 and spitfire the ffb didnt feel right (like when the apache had the curves applied even though I had reset all the curves!) - to correct this guessing the best way is just to tweak the VPforce configurator software settings? - if yes are they any particular settings I might need for helicopters (apache now feels good!) but that might not be required for fixed wing?
also unrelated question - currently using a virpil z with the mongoose grip but tempted to try the thrustmaster f18 grip instead - has anyone tried this and is it a worthwhile change?( just concerned it might not work as well as the mongoose - while the f18 is a better grip (all metal) its also much heavier so unsure how it might effect the performance of the rhino)
dont base your expectation of quality purely on it beeing metal, considering they dont say which one it is on their website its likely cheap zink alloy. deciding factor should be the layout and amount of inputs combined with what you like to fly
actually have used one before - and while the mongoose has more buttons and is excellent want to give the f18 one a try - question was more how well it works with the rhino (as its heavier than the mongoose) and other grips which may be an issue as using the z extension with it....
Mine just shipped, #0461! I thought it would be another few weeks. Just be sure when you get the order form request as your number nears to fill it out quickly, because my position changed twice right before and after I submitted it.
Iβm down to 23 to go and just got the email today asking me to complete the order form with any required accessories. I guess Iβll get an invoice to pay fairly soon.
I don't have anything yet. I'm 40 spots away from getting mine. Just looking for some inspiration/ideas of how to get mine mounted. I was thinking of taking a cheap wooden chair from like Facebook Marketplace and cutting out a notch for the stick and an inch off the back legs to lean it back a hair. Then make some brackets to mount to the chair that will hold the stick base.
I mean.. there's always this work of art (i mean that sincerely) πgeneral
Check out #showcase and #diy-builds , you might get some inspiration from what other people have done.
Myself, I had a virpil base on a desk mount, so I modified said desk mount with a 2x4 and a few pieces of plywood (I've since replaced the little legs with a plywood box that gives it much more support) πgeneral
How are you guys seeing your pre order information. I filled out the pre order form 2 weeks ago, received an email that said thanks for filling in the pre order form, but nothing more.
Thank you. Facepalm moment, forgot to scroll up on my phone in faq section to see that info. So i use the message box here using: @VPforceBot !info my email address
