Non Slip Soles on Loafers

Recently purchased some sude loafers from Sid Mashburn. The soles are slippery. Much more so than any other pair I've purchased (Bass, Rancourt, Blackstock & Weber). I primarily pad around perfumed and on carpet, is it considered gauche to get my local cobbler to slap on some non-slip sole protector type pad sole covers on these mofos? At some point, I've got to prioritize not falling on my ass ahead of fashion, but its not an easy choice. Any general guidance for adding sole grips on loafers?

If they're leather soles they'll get scuffed over time and gain more traction. That said, yeah just get some topys/sole protectors on them. Any decent cobbler will have a variety, including slimmer ones for dress shoes

Yeah leather soles be like that, go to a sidewalk and slide them around for a few mins and they'll feel a lot better Topy is also an option as Nay says, very common work for a cobbler

i've shamelessly lightly sanded the soles on a pair or two of my shoes to prevent myself from falling on my ass

Thanks for the feedback. I had a meeting yesterday in another buidling, tile, marble floors, reminded me of water skiing in my youth. Had the unfortunate experience of seeing myself "walking" in reflection of a window. Looked like I was 94 years old with osteoporosis. HOWEVER, just taking them out on the streets did make a diff. I'll have to see how they break in, I may opt for the Topys for peace of mind. THANKS FELLAS.
