Sweater Tucked in or no?

Hi, please help me to outline which sweaters and when to tuck in or no. Mostly using in combo with trouser/chinos.

It really depends on the fit you're going for. I tuck, or fold up the hem of the sweater all the time because I'm short and I like the clean look with a tucked sweater. There isn't a hard rule on when to do it, I tend to with turtlenecks that I'm layering over for example. Do you have examples of your own fits?

Some examples where I've tucked with varying degrees of formality.

I love tucking in my sweaters. There are some people on the Internet that are offended by it but who cares about them.

It's definitely harder to tuck a nice thick aran sweater!

Through the power of suspenders all things are possible.

I think both are tuckable though I would probably wear the second one untucked layered over a shirt That said it would still look good tucked in

okay, thank you so much! and last thing, is it better for such style to get a little bigger size sweater or more towards slim/muscle fit?

You can do both, it's about what kind of fit you're going for. If you were layering over it I'd go standard sizing, if you want it as your top layer with some wide pants for a relaxed look I'd size up. Equally though you can pull off a fit sweater and wide pants if you know what you're doing.

I personally prefer not to tuck sweaters, instead I'll roll the hem up a little bit if I want to visually shorten it. Examples:

I do that too, it's probably a more widely acceptable play.

Oops 1st isn't rolled but you get the point That being said it's just a personal choice and I absolutely believe Elvander is pulling it off in his pics Relaxed fit, slim/muscle fit sweaters are not good

Yes although it's always better to go off of pics, so put some on and post here or in #styling-suggestions I have a 40" chest and my preference is relaxed fit L or regular fit XL for sweaters The ones in the pics I showed you are all relaxed fit L

ok, since have some great size sweaters from zara, pull and bear L/XL matching, might go then for massimo dutti for xl last thing as its related, as starting to expand my wardrobe, still need some sweater, zip for colder spring, summer days, any suggestions for models?

I personally would not recommend zip sweaters, it can come off as a very "office drone business casual" thing I'd either go for a cardigan or overshirt if you want something that you can take off easily

there are a ton but I'd make another post in #questions-and-advice to ask for recommendations because chances are people won't read that far down this thread
