Hello I didn't play long time, is there a reason now to build base?
I don't think there will ever "be a reason" to build a base other than protection from enemies
the game IMO is built so you can either decide to take it slow and build or just full on rush the story
which isn't a bad thing since it panders to all play styles
I think the main issue, is there's nothing really to do with your base
There's something more to those? They're a bit simple

nope there is only small and medium
you can always build yourself
hold x and it switches to a different menu that has instructions on how to build manually
