GNOME - DAC shows as "Headphones - DX9", limits volume
My DAC, a Topping DX9 shows as "Headphones - DX9". Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but it limits the maximum volume significantly. How do I get the OS to identify the DAC normally?

alsamixer had db at -40 for some reason. looks to be an issue upstream
