i am on a macbook air m2, 512gb ssd with 8 gb ram, runs minecraft perfectly fine 300+ fps with shaders
used to run with optifine

Minecraft version 1.20.4 only supports up to Java 17. You have Java 21 installed, which only begins support by 1.20.5 and above...
