Gamemode restrictions & History

I heard gamemode restrictions from AFK'ing are accumulative over you entire history. For example if you started playing val and left a lot of matches but then decided to actually stick in your matches would some of those previous offences get relieved thus lessening your next afk restriction?

yeah if you play enough matches without going afk the severity of the your next penalty goes down
