Just clean installed Bazzite using the latest iso on the website and hit the same issue as this user 🛟bazzite-helpSteam Deck Desktop Mode (KDE) Results In plasmashell crashes
I followed the rollback steps and still experience the same issue. If I switch the os update channel from 40-20240517 to stable then no updates show.

Solution
Rebased to 40-20240427 and then back to stable seems to have resolved the issue
