"open devtools" not showing anything?

instance, and after doing some reading there does seem to be an option of debugging in chrome devtools, or in vscode

file which is empty
anybody know whats going on, or have i just not set something up properly?

at the bottom of the screen it does say loading. but it has been 5 minutes since i sent my original message and the loading progress bar hasn't moved a single bit

interesting thing is network requests are showing, just not the sources
