Paypal method

I'm trying to buy valorant point with paypal. but turns out i need credit card. WHY? I have enough in my paypal, why do i need to add a credit card. so i added a credit card that have no money that's linked to my paypal account, thinking it would just need it and take the money off paypal. but no please help
