you can use geforce experience to automatically update your drivers
or manually get the drivers from https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
Download the latest official NVIDIA drivers
Download the latest official NVIDIA drivers
i have geforce ill open it up
is it this thing?
yes
ok im downloadin lets see if this works
now what?
install them
express or custom?
express
gotcha
what does this mean?
hm
try restarting your PC
alrighty ill be back
If restarting doesn't fix, check Windows Update for any active update processes. Display drivers are also provided by Windows Update, so I assume it was a driver installation conflict between Windows Update and GeForce Experience that may result in that.
Alright I restarted my computer I’ll try to install again
Didn’t work
Watcha mean?
check here
An antivirus was updated
should I try again now?
no driver updates of any kind when you check for them?
Is it maybe my computer?
I'm curious what the options are in custom installation
I have an AMD graphics card so I can't check myself
Alright I will see what custom says
it said error
:thonkwithshades:
is it possible for you to redownload the drivers?
or download an older version?
like search it up manually?
you could try that yeah
go here and put in your graphics card to find the right drivers for your card
Got it
how do i find my graphics card?
geforce should tell you somewhere, but if you press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, go to the performance tab (second tab), and click on GPU that will tell you too
also thank you alot for helping me!
no worries
ok here we go
okay this should be it https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/228213/en-us/

Alrighty I’ll open it now
This right?
yeah you should be good to just keep clicking Ok or Continue
Gotcha
This right?
yes
Agree and continue?
Yes.
gotcha
express or custom?
Express is best in your case.
alrighty
Custom for when you want a bit more control on what software stack you want to install.
For the average user, express is all they ever need.
By the way, screen may turn off and on at times. It's usual for that to happen during display driver installation.
Now what?
launch minecraft
Now it says this, is this the wanted outcome?
yes, means the latest driver was installed sucessfully
WOOHOO
and now your computer is compatible to run sodium and iris
ok time to try it out
I was askin my cousin about this and he didn’t know what to do, but thanks to you guys I think it’ll work

YESS
ok time to see if i can finish the tutorial set up video
:haha_yes:
hm hey so now minecraft works but, it doesnt seem to have the fancy looks i saw in the video, should i start a new thread or continue with this one?
you need to get a shaderpack and put it in the shaderpacks folder
iris is just a shader loader
