It looks like the game is launching without error, does this game require EOS? I don't recall.

It probably does, but I dont recall uninstalling EOS
I migrated from EGL to Heroic a few months ago and I've been playing fortnite, rocket leauge and multiversus without issue

It might need an update, try forcing an update on the game and then check the game settings for an update to EOS

I updated the game before launching today
Iirc epic did something to block things like lunching from command line but I was told heroic wasn't affected

I also had an issue, but it looked a bit different, I tried both Rare AND Heroic.

I just want to add something to the mix here. I've had some users get fortnite running on steam in Junk-Store, I think that Epic might have picked up on it and done something about it. I actually tried fortnite myself and I was able to get some of it running at one point. Then epic made an update and it's no longer possible. This 100% indicates to me that Epic made a change to detect "something" and block it running. While I can only speculate as to why they have done this, it showed up shortly after a couple of users started reporting that Fortnite was playable to some extent on the deck using Junk-Store, so I guess make of that what you will.

as in no new update is availible
repair and verify didn't work either
im going to try and verify it from egl
verifying from EGL got the game to launch via heroic again

started after a restore point and got this same error. Updated my game since new season recently came out and it's fine
