I can reduce the planes weight to abt 35g as there are weights in the front which i could substitute for parts for the plane So should i have a potentiometer for speed and a joystick for acceleration deceleration left right

"parrot swing" was it. So 4 motor no servos plane is theoretically possible. The question is just how difficult it is. And maybe you need a real PID control loop on the plane 🤔

A normal plane can be built/designed in a way that it's aerodynamically pretty stable. So you can have very primitive controls. (Like literally a human pulling ropes.) But quadcopters are aerodynamically extremely unstable so they need an advanced computer on board to finely and fast control the motors to make it stable.

Idk which motor to buy tho i wsnt it cheap as possible I was gonna try incorporate a gyro

If you want to really maximise range then you should also think about antenna orientation. But that depends on what type/design of antenna it is

You can just buy off-the-shelf hobby RC hardware. For example an RC link system like ExpressLRS. And a flight controller that runs for example the inav open soure flight controller software. Then you get: - better hardware designed for your purpose. That gives you longer range, lower weight, easier wiring, etc. - software already programmed and tested by other people with way more experience over the last more than 10 years - way more features than you could program yourself for the same amount of effort

Imho with all those drone, rc plane, rc car, etc projects it's a question: - Do you want it to fly well? Or do a particular (not extremely niche) task well? For the least amount of effort? (still a lot of effort depending on what you want to do.) => use as much off-the-shelf parts and software as possible

You especially don't solder to lithium batteries. If one really needs to permanently attach a wire to a liion battery, a spot welder is used.

I bet you don't have a spot welder. I don't have one either So I would recommend the battery holder approach that amder already suggested Soldering directly to a battery causes the battery to heat up a lot. That can be really dangerous and damage the battery (which is dangerous again). That's why you should not solder directly to batteries

1500mah is 1500mah no matter the battery type or voltage if you draw 1500mA you get 1 hour of runtime. drawing 3000mA you get 30 minutes and so on. Of course in reality you should expect less because you don't want to discharge the battery to the absolute limit

The minimum voltage isn't the direct point though. The amount of mAh per weight of the cell is the thing. But they have more mAh because they can get discharged lower I think 🤔

Sorry I didn't read the entire chat so sorry if what I'm saying is irrelevant. A friend used this type of ESP32 with tiny built-in antenna and he told me that the wifi range on it is very bad. But I don't know if this applies to all or only some of those small ESP32's

but slightly larger motors also have way larger props and screw mount for the prop. But then you're probably in 2S range
