is this with generatecontent or generatecontentstream backend?

when I test with generatecontentstream with system message set it just works.
at the end of the day, all of these sdk piggy back on rest api of v1, v1beta, v1alpha. which all of the languages python, nodejs, and go rely on. am I wrong in assuming that?
