It would be cool to have `generate`

It would be cool to have 
generate
 retry with different inputs if various errors occur. For example, Claude is having a partial outage and I'm getting 529's. If I could handle that and regenerate with a differnt model/prompt, that would be great. https://status.anthropic.com/
