Optical Drive Not Detected
I've recenty installed Bazzite on an old desktop, and I cannot find any indication that it is detected by the OS. It shows up in the BIOS, but not in /dev/ as far as I can tell. I need some help troubleshooting this.
Shey, I know this is quite an old post, and I am having the exact same problem. I found a workaround that is pretty consistent...
SI don't really know why, but if you open VLC and go to media -> open disk, (doesn't really matter what kind of optical drive you tell it to open as in my experience) the disk will be recognized by the os and can be accessed as normal in dolphin
SI guess when you tell vlc to open a disk, it somehow forces it to be mounted
