in the game settings, there's a selector to pick the wine version, you can install wine-ge with the wine manager section of heroic
pick that and then you should see a checkbox for NVAPI, uncheck that

I don't know what else to try (the game should just work with that config)
maybe try with a non-flatpak version of heroic?
also make sure there's no zombie wine process (check with the tasks manager of the OS or restart your machine)

other notes: Heroic and Wine-GE are not on their latest versions

Mine quit working recently too, with 30 hours in an most items. Can anyone see the problem? I am competent but not super techie!
