Analytics Engine returning duplicated rows

i'm currently investigating a problem in our dashboard showing inflated values for some events when querying AE. part of the problem i noticed was that we were missing the _sample_interval_sample_interval value in our grouping query, but after fixing that problem the counts were still off.

i ran the query directly to see what the raw data looked like and i noticed that it was returning duplicate rows for about 10% of the time. here's an example:

i know that grouping by timestamptimestamp means i am getting both rows because their timing is slightly off, but for these specific events i know they're written to AE only once, so at best, i would expect a single row per user_id,cart_id,actionuser_id,cart_id,action tuple, even if the countcount is then inflated for some of the events

even considering they were written twice, why would it return 2 rows with a total count of 3 and the value doubled in the second row?

right, that would make sense, let me check whether the event source makes duplicated calls to our worker then, thanks!

seems my initial assumption was incorrect - even though the worker is guaranteed to write one data point, the event source fired duplicates, which explains it. thanks!
