IDK a ton about them but i like the look of lots of it and there wasnt a thread yet
👊
:nooooo: i blame your suit post for making me want to spend too much money
Ziggy Textiles are always :chefskiss: and the cuts are super accessible without leaning into costume
i wish ziggy was like more affordable in general
the suitset was a splurge
at 60% off i was sweating still
yeah its wild, where did it go on sale?
atelier and if soho
is where ive gotten my ziggy in el pasado
blowing my ziggy spot but https://www.robinrichman.com/search/ziggy/

Similar vibe to studio aviva jifei xue
ooo ty
👀
i like this
Their fabrics are super nice
You can visit their studio to see/buy stuff in person if you make an appointment via IG
It’s in LIC @sethmon
on snap
The goat
my fav brand but yes retail is overpriced, especially the official website which is strangely much more expensive than stockists
if you are a larger size antonioli has good sales (+ VAT off)
she was a buyer at atelier i was told (where they stock ziggy)
do you mean their official store in shanghai or the studio?
They have a small studio space in nyc
oh right for aviva i thought you were talking about ziggy
Oh yeah slightly confusing syntax
love both of their work (ziggy + ajx) but in my experience they are very different. ziggy's has a ton of asymmetry, layered / collaged materials, unusal cuts... aviva's is much more "wearable", for lack of a better term. much closer to someone like evan kinori, i feel
i was curious about this fabric from the current season, which is 5% metal?

He has used a small percentage of metal in some fabrics for a few years now. I recall in an interview few years ago that it helps with the structure of fabric but I'll have to dig up the interview once wayback machine is back up.
My Ziggy puffer coat has some metal in it too. You really can’t feel it. Unlike some TVA jacket I used to own to which it added some very obvious sheen and rough feel

you're totally right - had a chance to try on this jacket yesterday, which is the same material as the pants i linked above. super soft, would have no idea that metal was woven in, unless someone told me
It looks great on you!
favs from aw25

feels like a really strong season...i really like #4 (the purple-ish bomber jacket one). but im also really excited for fully lined pants like in #2

good close-up shots of some of the fabrics (scroll right)
Amazing fabrics as per usual
The grey coat looks insane

Love this look too
yeah wonderful fabrics. i'm glad he's going hard on the jacquard and the seasonal print is great as usual.
feels like it was inspired by asbestos lol
i am surprised he's using this striped fabric again, it's a ss25 fabric. he normally doesn't do that other than the staples
Also noticed there's no women's; i'm guessing he's doing a proper women's show during women's fashion week?
I had the same thought haha… it looks like mold or something (in the best, most Ziggy way)
Any pieces you all are excited for from upcoming SS?
A S B E S T O S I S C O R E
I like the woolen hood
I might actually order it
Oh wait you were talking about SS. I already forgot about this runway 😦
SS (upcoming season) was not my fav from what i saw...but there are always some surprises once things actually start to hit stores. can you order things ahead-of-time from ZC?
i like these but i'm not going to pretend i can afford them
showroom pieces that weren't on the runway (rednote links):

http://xhslink.com/a/jBCeDKG64IJ4
http://xhslink.com/a/S4BqffCedJJ4

if you're really keen on a piece i'm sure you could contact a retailer to order it for you
No idea, I order through local shops that stock him
very cool, which store are these from btw? i know ive seen the model before...just cant pinpoint it
i think the showroom pieces tend to be the ones i gravitate towards the most haha. i love to look at the runway stuff, but most of the time, they arent pieces that fit into my wardrobe. showroom (non-runway) pieces always seem a bit more attainable
model is from the pfw showroom, they have a model at the showroom to try on the clothes for the buyers (these pictures are from one of the chinese buyers). i'm guessing the buyers asked the model to step outside to get better light.
yeah the more grounded pieces aren't used on the runway typically
ya one of my favorite things i have from ziggy is just a black blazer haha
its pretty "normal" looking but of course it has ziggy details that are pretty cool the closer you look
which one? wish i could fit in the blazers but with most of the brand's clothes it's just too long for me; can't size down because i'm a 44
also here are more showroom pictures for fw25:

Same here I love his jackets but they’re usually too long
So I stick to coats that are supposed to be extra long anyway
this one, it fits oversized though - its actually an all-black version of the other jacket i tried on earlier in this thread (the khaki / pinstripe one)
https://ziggychen.com/collections/jackets-1/products/notch-lapel-three-button-jacket-1
its cool, i love the cargo pockets on the side. and its of course fully lined with the aged cotton / stripe material, so you can cuff the sleeves
i really want one of the down jackets eventually, you have a white-ish one from a few seasons back right?
yeah same i have a double breasted coat from ss22 that i love. the white down jacket looks great on you and i think that's a hard piece to pull off
cuffing the sleeves to show the stripes is always a must
Yes it’s really warm, perfect for winter
https://fascinate-online.com/en/cont/ziggychen_25aw_season_review_20250605_en
damn i hate ss26, not a fan of tan so this collection is not for me. seasonal print is not great either.
Did you see photos somewhere?
I like what i see so far, its nothing too new but ehh big pants cool fabrics
Interesting, I actually quite like it. I wish the photos were a bit higher resolution because some of the fabrics look really beautiful but it’s hard to tell
It’s very… approachable? Compared to a lot of seasons. Doesn’t feel as intentionally “ugly” / clash-y as usual
Oh nvm higher resolution once you click the photos
also video does loads for this collection
ziggy fabrics move so well

Man I love Ziggy

Ya im ngl this is actually one of my favorite collections 😂
I think the blue suit is my favorite thing from the collection
Same here, and I strongly dislike blue clothing
But this one goes extra hard
Incidentally I just got myself a darker version of this jacket (didn't find any pic of it online, maybe it is a special production for l'éclaireur) and this waistcoat

Which is highly stupid because with current Parisian weather I won't be wearing any of that until September
this one?

It looks just like it but mine is not linen like this one

i want these pants
yours for the low price of 1500 euros
jfc, did they list prices somewhere? i mean, i wouldnt be surprised. that seems in the ballpark for ziggy
nah they haven't but prices have been increasing like mad in the past few years
trousers are in the 700 to 1500 euro range
yeah, ziggy is expensive, no debate there. at least it goes on sale a lot though
the retailers who do the best sales (atelier ny, antonioli) never stock 44 (my size) sadly
vision of fashion does which is probably the retailer with the biggest buy each season but they shockingly sell through most of their stock at rrp
right, and both of those places usually dont have the best buys
VoF is usually good
check out Gullam too. like they are currently having a sale on ziggy stuff. their buys are good, and they dont tend to sell out somehow. but yeah prices are still insane even with discounts
yeah gullam, ujng, fascinate and vof are normally my go tos
i love this jacket from this season but i can't justify the 1.7k euro price tag

i hear ya, yeah thats a cool jacket. i tried it on at atelier a couple times
Any suggestions for brands that are similar to this but at a (even just slightly) lower price point?
I do like that ajx brand posted earlier
yeah it's hard cos ziggy is so material specific
someone might say professor e might be adjacent at a lower price point but it comes with a significant quality drop
Yeah ziggy is so depended on the super funky textures and fabrics
I appreciate the suggestion :)
but yeah I guess the ZC fabrics justify the price tag, if not in a material/effort cost way then definatly a "good luck finding anyone who does it as interesting as we do" way
the cuts are alright too
mostly I just have a physical need to touch some of these pieces
yeah absolutely higher end clothing needs to be felt
otherwise it's impossible to explain the price point
they have a few stockists in NYC and maybe a few in LA if ur euro idk but im sure they exist
yeah!
i have seen devoa use some of the same fabrics as ziggy, still costly but cheaper if you proxy from a jp retailer. I also know that evan kinori and jan jan van essche use the same jp fabric sourcer as ziggy (the sourcer was ziggy's right hand man for many years). i don't think ek is very adventurous with his fabric selection though while jjve's is on par with zc but the two brands have aesthetics.
like others have said, it's best to try to get ziggy at a discounted price. what's your typical size? i can link some retailers.
Roughly men’s M/38R
Some Professor.E pieces have a kind of similar vibe
Same for Song of Vagrant
However Ziggy stands pretty much alone in his category ATM in my opinion, I don't feel like there is any true alternative
oh lots of stores stock your size then, you could also size down to 46/S if you want because the clothes are often oversized. check out atelier ny, antonioli, hotoveli, gardenantwerp. all have good sales right now for your size.
Thank you! Even with the sale prices I probably won’t be getting anything from them soon haha. But I’ll pin those sites
Some day I’ll snag something
Just go to nyc and try on all the clothes without buying anything it’s almost like having ziggy:xd:
haha i know what you mean, 50% off and it's still crazy expensive
https://antonioli.eu/en-us/products/man-ziggy-chen-accessories-eyewear-0m25160011-24 damn cheapest I’ve seen the collab go
Antonioli.eu
ZIGGY CHEN MAN BLACK EYEWEAR
collaboration with Rigardsblackhammered titanium round frameblue lenses100% UV protection
One of the worse pairs but
Oh not really much cheaper at all but uma wang has some stuff
Also I think already said but Jan Jan Van Essche could have some bit of dif vibe tho
Evan kinori if u want nice fabrics but more boring
And still :xd: $$$$
I mean
The more saved searches the better
True true more shit to look at on the internet :letsfuckinggo:
One day someone is going to list one of these at the wrong price and not realize until after I have bought it
And they shipped it
Trust
:blushcatto:
I believe in u, buy it then ping me pls :xd:
Anyway ziggy is actually free if you can outrun the security at IF soho
Only works once tho
If there is a showroom in LA I might try that there
I don’t need a reason to never go back to LA
It’ll be too hot to wear my new ziggy coat anyways
H Lorenzo has some(1 item)
But if u want to see some stuff like that and are near ish LA hit up DSMLA and departmentamento
I’m only on the west coast for a short trip so I probably can’t make time for cosplaying affording cool clothes 😔
I’ll put those stores on my google doc I am making tho lol
I want to catalogue all the good info you guys have provided
It’s gotta go to use
I think some of the Forgotten Materials stuff from Prof E comes somewhat close. But agree with Pesty that Ziggy is in his own lane
Jan Jan and EK are obsessed with using natural fibers, whereas Ziggy isn’t afraid to use synthetics and metal etc in his clothes, which makes them quite different in my eyes. Ziggy seems to be more interested in construction and less full-on fabric nerd kinda stuff imo
All that goes to say, I think there isn’t really anyone comparable to ZC imo 😂
Yeah no one doing it quite like him
I also wish there were more places to try on his stuff. We’re lucky we have atelier in Seattle - I think Maxfield in LA stocks Ziggy too btw, but currently sold out atm
Ahh I wasn’t sure if they had it when I made my list I couldn’t find it on the site but sold out makes sense
Yeah last SS season they had a bunch of stuff, but looks like they might’ve skipped this past FW
Or sorry, they skipped this SS. But carried last FW. You know what I mean haha
I just know they had that velvet bomber jacket that I kinda wanted haha
:HOLY: damn I wanted that too
oh i would say zc is the biggest fabric nerd of them all, he was a textile professor. and like i said, ek and jjve use ziggy's fabric sourcer he trained (@salou_inc - he's a good follow on ig if you like old jp mills). i just think ziggy is not dogmatic about using 100% natural fibers all the time as long as it serves a purpose (which is normally structural).
Ah I stand corrected then! Appreciate the additional info that is so cool
Had no idea he was a professor
Yeah Ziggy consistently comes up with amazing fabrics, it's really one of his major selling points. There's a wow effect when you see 90% of his pieces IRL, which I really can't say about EK or JJVE. They source some spectacular fabrics too, but they have more ups and downs
His latest viscose and acetate blends are really interesting
That’s cool - I’ve definitely noticed that Ziggys stuff is substantially better irl than in photos.
I’ve actually had a lot of visceral reactions to Jan Jan’s work recently - some of the fabrics from this past season are so incredibly beautiful irl, esp the hand-woven pieces.
I think Evan’s stuff is consistently very good but ya maybe not mind blowing per-se
Overall Ziggy is probably my favorite designer but they’re all very cool in their own ways
Where did you learn about all of this btw? Does he talk about it in interviews somewhere? I’m always curious to learn more
just from searching around and reading interviews he's done. annoyingly a lot of them have been taken down including a really long one with hiroki osuka, here are some i found though:

Also, in china it's really common for store assistants to post outfits on redbook and/or weibo. this guy from the flagship store in shanghai has tons of outfits and close ups of the fabric: https://weibo.com/u/7470617255?tabtype=album If you click the picture above "原创" it should allow you to scroll to see all his images. i think a lot of people don't look good in ziggy because they're not tall enough but for some reason he looks really good despite being not tall.

good share, thank you
cool to see some of AW25 preorder stuff going up already
the cargos are probably the most interesting thing to me so far, the fabric comp seems really nice. also the duvet jacket (the canapa one)
His coats are consistently on another level
This is nuts

I’ll be back at fascinate next year
I ain’t paying import tax on top of retail ziggy
huge order for fascinate
i love this pointed collar he's been using more and more

this fabric is very interesting
